PES, Lakes Environmental, and Russell Lee to Provide Training on AERMOD and ISC Models

Pacific Environmental Services, Inc. (PES), Lakes Environmental Software, and Russell Lee have announced that they plan to use their combined expertise to provide dispersion modeling services and training on ISCST3, AERMOD, and ISC-PRIME, among the most extensively used air dispersion models in the world. The alliance marks a milestone in air dispersion modeling services by bringing together developers of leading air dispersion modeling interface tools with the developers of the U.S. EPA models. This is a powerful team!

PES, under contract from the U.S. EPA, developed the computer codes for the popular ISCST3, AERMOD and SCREEN3 regulatory models. Lakes Environmental is one of the leading developers of graphical user interfaces (GUI) for the EPA dispersion models, including ISC-AERMOD View. Russell Lee was the technical manager at the U.S. EPA OAQPS for the development of ISC2 and AERMOD. Currently he is an independent consultant and a member of the AERMIC team, which is in charge of theoretical development of the AERMOD model.

By combining the best expertise in air dispersion modeling and extensive technical and instructional experience, PES, Lakes Environmental, and Russell Lee are offering a unique training opportunity that provides proven tools and solutions for the new millennium. The ISC-AERMOD View provides a seamlessly integrated interface to ISCST3, AERMOD and ISC-PRIME. It is therefore possible to offer training on all three models in a single course. This approach emphasizes the similarity of input structures between the three models, and should simplify applications involving more than one model (this may be a requirement under anticipated changes to the EPA modeling guideline). Also, ISC-AERMOD View can use the U.S. EPA executable files straight from the EPA web site without the need to modify and recompile the EPA code. The training courses will be prepared and delivered by members of both the model and interface development teams. Therefore, the training will offer unique insight into the regulatory aspects and theoretical framework of the models.

This collaboration of unique talent offers you access to a wealth of information and insight into an evolving technology. Take advantage of it!

Course and registration information can be found at the Lakes Environmental web site.
