INFORMATION RETRIEVAL AND ARCHIVE SYSTEM (IRAS)
INSTALLATION RESTORATION PROGRAM
ADMINISTRATIVE RECORD MANAGEMENT
PES used the Document Archive Retrieval Technology (DART)
to develop IRAS,
a user-friendly, indexed CD-ROM-based application that uses industry standard Adobe PDF
files to contain all Department of Defense (DoD) Administrative Record/Installation
Restoration Program (AR/IRP) information. These PDF files can be retrieved and viewed
on-line. In addition to the software, PES offers assistance to any DoD installation in the
implementation of the software. Implementation options include the scanning, loading and
indexing of the original documents, as well as the customization of the data fields to
suit particular business practices.

REQUIREMENTS?
The Comprehensive Emergency Response Compensation and
Liability Act (CERCLA) requires the Administrative Record (AR) for
all Installation Restoration Program (IRP) activities be located at certain locales
in the community and on the base and to be available to the public. Meet this
requirement by deploying the IRAS Viewer to libraries or other public institutions to allow access to the information. |
